Jacques Bon Coeur Brut Reserve Champagne, NV
Jacques Bon Coeur has received the first Sustainable Winegrowing certification in Champagne. Jacques Bon Coeur is produced by one of the leading co-operative Champagne Houses, located in the southern border of Champagne and Burgundy. It was founded in 1956 when 130 families came together all bringing work, passion and energy to the table. With 310 hectares of remarkable and unique vineyards, this heart-warming venture of the community has been in place for over 65 years.
Champagne, one of the world’s most well-known wine styles, is typically made from a combination of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier wines. Simply, Pinot Noir adds structure, Chardonnay adds weight and Pinot Meunier backs them up while ripening early, ensuring growers can harvest some grapes while avoiding potential frosts. Each Champagne house has a different style, and proportionately uses the wines in order to emulate this. Blancs de Blancs, a commonly labelled style, is made from 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful aromatic complexity of green apples, lemon citrus with undertones of brioche and hazelnut. Delicate, persistent mousse on the palate fuses with a subtle combination of structure, vivacity and a creamy texture that envelops the core green and citrus fruit with added savoury undertones. Recently featured in Jancis Robinson`s `Best Bubbles for Christmas 2022` in The Financial Times and chosen by critically acclaimed wine writer, Joanna Simon, as her ‘wine of the week’.
