Christmas Wreath Workshop, in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance.
We had a fantastic evening at Rockliffe Hall making Christmas wreaths and raising money in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service. 70 people attended, making it the biggest wreath-workshop we’ve ever done!
Everyone did a fantastic job, and left with a beautiful and festive hand-made door wreath. Sally and Katie demonstrated how to make a wreath, and showed how different wreaths can look. You can choose to cluster items together, or space them out evenly throughout the wreath. You can go with a modern pink and silver wreath, or keep traditional, with orange slices, cones and berries. It’s so lovely to be able to make your own wreath at Christmas, and we wanted everyone to be able to create their own bespoke design.
Each person had their own base wreath which we’d made the day before using pine and cypress on a metal frame. We then gave each of the participants a bag filled with the essentials for a Christmas door wreath: Holly, berries and cones. We showed everyone how to wire each item and thread them through the wreath, securing the wire at the back.
It was then up to each person to personalise their wreath, using the selection of accessories we provided. There was sparkly wire leaves in golds, silvers and reds, glitzy apples, lots of baubles, rustic cones, lotus seed pods, cinnamon sticks and dried fruits to name just a few.
Everyone’s wreath was different, from natural and rustic, to glitzy and bright.
Thanks to everyone who attended and raised money for such a good cause this Christmas.
