One of the positive things to have come out of 2020 is a renewed appreciation for small businesses, independent artisans and handcrafted products. Many of us have made a real effort to shop small and help keep our lovely cafes, butchers, bakers and boutiques afloat during this difficult year.

Flowers by Nattrass has always been keen to champion fellow independents and this year is absolutely no exception. We're therefore delighted to introduce you to two very local companies with whom we are partnering now and in to the future to bring you extra special gift options.

Kacao Chocolaterie - lovingly hand made fresh artisan chocolate
Kelsey started Kacao in 2014 to satisfy an inner dream, the love of chocolate and being able to source the finest beans from around the world. She has recently relocated the business to The Station in Richmond (previously at Sedbury).

Before starting her degree Kelsey was lucky enough to travel and work in Central & South America, calling in on some of the places where top class cacao beans are grown. She developed a fascination for the plantations, cacao bean and the communities who benefit from this delicious natural product. She was also lucky enough to work in an orphanage in Peru, and saw first hand how much these communities rely on western trade. It is important to her therefore to use not only the finest tasting couverture but also that it is sustainably sourced so she can all give back what is deserved to these far away places full of wonderful people.

Little Quaker Gin Distillery
The Little Quaker Distillery has been a dream of owners Paul and Leanne Colman. Based in Darlington, it embraces the history of the town and hopes to trade on its values. The distillery hand crafts all of its bottles of gin using local ingredients sourced from local retailers, each batch is made in small volumes to give it an individual feel.

The latest distilling equipment seamlessly combined with traditional stilling techniques going back centuries to ensure consistently excellent taste every time. We absolutely love these gins and hope you will too!
